Outdoor living is becoming popular all around the country, not just in the usual places. Help your clients extend the season with a design that includes some sheltered space, like these floor plans with screened porches. Fireplaces add that extra-cozy factor for crisp evenings.

Florida Room and Cabana

A long back wall of sliding glass doors opens up the great room and dining area to the Florida room, an air-conditioned space with a fireplace that encourages lounging in any season. An outdoor kitchen makes the cabana a fun hangout when the weather is nice. In the kitchen, a dry bar can house a wine refrigerator, so it’s easy to grab a bottle and open a glass for sharing with friends at the island. The master suite pampers owners with a walk-in shower, dual vanities, two walk-in closets, and access to the backyard. Two more bedrooms host family and friends in style. The main gathering space in this beautiful home offers an unusually large amount of room for entertaining, with the kitchen and dining room completely open to it for terrific flow. Decorative ceiling treatments adorn nearly every room, especially the light-filled master suite (don’t miss the huge walk-in closets and deluxe bathroom in here). Two more bedrooms reside on the opposite side of the home, along with the impressive laundry room. The three-season porch provides a cozy fireplace in back. Rugged Style Gets Elevated

Rustic yet elegant, this spacious home features classic Prairie styling and a contemporary open layout. The kitchen will become the center of activity, with space for six people at the kitchen island and the open dining room just a step away. Curl up by the fireplace in the great room, or head out to the network of porches outside (including one with its own fireplace). See more images, information, and the floor plan.

Remarkably Versatile

Here’s a flexible floor plan that prioritizes relaxation and casual entertaining. The master suite presents owners with a large bedroom, tons of storage, and a door to the rear porch. Another porch is screened and features a fireplace for toasty lounging on cool evenings. The great room flows into the kitchen, where a large island and another one in the middle contribute plenty of space for prepping food and hanging out with friends over drinks. The versatile guest suite near the front would also make a great home office. For future expansion, the bonus room upstairs offers a bright and large space (check out those skylights).
