Realtors and executives with Balmoral developer Land Tejas recently cut the ribbon on the GreenBoLT Alternative Transportation Experience at the Northeast Beltway 8 community in Houston.

The community hosted a block party May 23 to introduce people to the GreenBoLT, a 4-mile, 12-foot wide trail system that can accommodate electric golf carts, pedestrians, bicyclists and battery-powered scooters.

“Because the GreenBoLT is so wide, people using various modes of transportation can easily access the trail system simultaneously,” said Tim Johnson, director of community sales and marketing for Land Tejas. “And since residents will be able to safely use electric golf carts and scooters such as Segways on the GreenBoLT, they will be able to get to the Amenity Village within minutes, no matter where they live in Balmoral.”

Making the community as accessible as possible was important, Johnson said, because of the level of amenities residents would be able to enjoy.

“Because the Amenity Village will be home to a Crystal Clear Lagoon — the first in Texas — we wanted all residents to have easy access to the complex,” he said.

Under construction now, the 2-acre lagoon has depths up to 8 feet and will feature a Kid’s Cove and two sand beaches — a Family Beach with cabanas and lounge chairs, and a Serenity Beach. The lagoon will be a signature feature of the 8-acre Amenity Village, which includes an infinity-edge pool overlooking the lagoon, a food truck courtyard, hammock park, sand volleyball court, playground and splash pad.

The Amenity Village is expected to open later this year.

Nearly 150 families have made their home in the 580-acre Balmoral since sales began last year. Builders Colina Homes, D.R. Horton, Gray Point by Gehan Homes, HistoryMaker Homes and Westin Homes offer designs priced from the $200,000s to the $500,000s.
