The classic blue china known as Delftware actually has Chinese roots but found its way across Europe in the 17th century. These 12-by 12-inch limestone tiles take their inspiration from the 1600s and are available in the traditional blue and white combination. But they’re also made in more modern tones, such as teal, magenta, and persimmon. The tiles are hand-painted or lithographed in holly, tulip/carnation, diamond/circle, fleur de lys, or quatrefoil designs; four 12-inch squares compose a complete design.
