By Carolyn Weber. Best Apartment Project–up to four stories

Enron may be gone, but baseball and the recently constructed Astros Field (formerly Enron Field) are going strong in Houston. The Lofts at the Ballpark is a 4.3-acre project sited on three blocks in the heart of downtown, adjacent to the field. The turn-of-the-century warehouse design responds to the nostalgic style of the ballpark. Rents for the 375 units, which average 995 square feet, range from $1,082 to $2,109. The public areas for residents include a movie theater, business center, 24-hour fitness facility, Internet cafe, and gourmet kitchen.
