The 5” Brushless Paddle Switch Small Angle Grinder by DEWALT.

DeWalt has added five new cordless grinders to its Perform and Protect line of drilling and grinding tools. Each of the DeWalt Perform and Protect tools is designed to provide one or more of the following: control, dust containment, or low vibration, without sacrificing any level of performance, according to the manufacturer. The grinders range from 5 to 7 inches, with a choice of a paddle, slide, or trigger switch.

The 5-inch Slide Switch Small Angle Grinder achieves up to 13 Amps and 1800 MWO. Its E-Clutch System automatically shuts down the motor when a wheel pinch is detected, and works together with the grinder’s Kickback Brake to automatically stop the tool and shut it down when a pinch or stall occurs. Its two removable mesh screens block debris from entering the tool, and the on-off trigger switch has a no-volt release function to prevent accidental turn-on.

In addition to the E-Clutch and Kickback Brake, the 5-inch/6-inch Paddle Switch Small Angle Grinder and 5-inch/6-inch Trigger Switch Small Angle Grinder also include Lanyard Ready connection points and an extra brake that stops the wheel in one second or less when the trigger is released.

The grinders range in MSRP from $209 for the 5-inch paddle switch grinder to $259 for the 7-inch grinder. Each comes standard with a three-year warranty and one-year free service contract. dewalt.com
