The Meyers Group’s Vision 2002 survey compiled data from more than 75,000 new-home buyers who purchased within the past 30 months, as well as sales patterns of 4,468 new-home developments in the West and Southwest. When asked to rank subcontractor specialties, buyers gave a C- satisfaction rating to each of the following: The lowest grade went to landscaping (70.2 percent), followed by painting (70.9 percent), flooring (72.2 percent), HVAC (73.6 percent), and plumbing (73.7 percent).
