Minto Communities has sold the last new Minto home in historic Sun City Center near Tampa Bay, and the community now has reached final build out.
Located near Tampa Bay, Florida, Sun City Center was opened in 1961 by the developer who also created Sun City retirement communities near Arizona and California. Over the decades, Sun City Center grew to become one of the leading retirement communities in the nation, receiving numerous accolades and capturing national headlines.
In 2010, Minto purchased the remaining buildable land in Sun City Center. Minto revamped the community’s entrance and landscaping, and proceeded to develop the neighborhoods of Somerset, Nottingham, Oakley Green, Richmond and Maplewood within Sun City Center’s Kings Point neighborhood, and Sienna, Calabria and Verona within Sun City Center’s Renaissance neighborhood. Minto has built a total of 718 villa, single-family and estate homes at Sun City Center.

With the successful completion of Sun City Center, Minto now is focusing on its LATITUDE MARGARITAVILLE active adult communities offering a Margaritaville-inspired lifestyle of fun, food and music for active adults who are growing older but not up. The first LATITUDE MARGARITAVILLE communities are now open in Daytona Beach, Florida and Hilton Head, South Carolina. Plans are underway for additional locations in some of the nation’s most popular destinations, including Watersound, Florida located in the Florida Panhandle.
