Bendheim has been busy treating its newest offerings from both sides of the glass.

Satin Shower

In the bathroom, SatinTech frameless shower doors offer an etched, ultra-brilliant finish that combines the popular frosted aesthetic with ease of maintenance. The chemically etched surfaces are naturally resistant to fingerprints and staining over the life of the product. The etched surface faces outward in this barn door-style installation from Mosaic Interiors SF, while the smooth, polished surface adds shimmer to the bath’s interior.

Dynamic Design

Elsewhere in the home, designers can add color and depth with Color Coated back-painted glass. Bendheim’s production facilities incorporate advanced color technologies, allowing for custom colors and color matching to tones like Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year, Marsala, and paint manufacturers’ offerings.

The color coating process uses specialty water-based paints to create a safe, long-lasting, and VOC-free product, and the UV-resistant coatings are developed to be stable, hygenic, and non-porous. Color Coated glass can be tempered or laminated for additional safety, and is available in thicknesses from 1/4 to 3/4 inches and sizes up to 60 by 120 inches.

For glass designs with more movement, Bendheim has introduced the Etched Elements collection with Oberon as its initial design. The substantial 1/2-inch-thick offering is a dual-sided, fine-etched surface that adds body and depth to a variety of interior or exterior applications, and is enhanced by edge-lighting applications. Created in partnership with a graphic artist, the acid-etched pattern is inspired by natural structures found in biology. The design offers a degree of privacy while still allowing for openness and daylighting.

Oberon can be used as decorative glass for partitions, stair railings, balustrades, shower doors, ceilings, doors, and windows. Designed to the bird-safe “2×4 rule,” the material is also suitable for bird-friendly exterior glass walls. Specify sizes up to 90 by 124 inches.
