The residential framing arm of Weyerhaeuser Co., iLevel, has released the latest edition of its whole-house structural frame design software. Javelin i20 offers several new features that speed up and ease the process of designing, modeling, and optimizing structural frames for walls, floors, and roofs. The software’s enhanced 3-D model and section views show precisely how every part of a building’s structure fits together, allowing designers to spot and resolve structural conflicts while maintaining a complete material list.
iLevel has streamlined Javelin’s coding for faster analysis and enhanced labeling and display capabilities. Javelin i20’s other new features allow designers to:
manage plotter profiles;
preview and print multiple layout sheets;
retain connector selections when changing structural members;
apply hatch patterns to closed CAD objects to call out specific areas on a drawing;
specify door swings and create door schedules on the fly; and
import electronic drawings in DXF/DWG format and convert walls to Javelin using the line-input method, reducing manual drawing conversions and minimizing errors. Users also can open projects created in previous Javelin versions using the new Javelin i20 without altering design results. For more details on the software, visit www.ilevel.com.
