In October, the Atlanta-based home improvement retailer announced the planned acquisition of three flooring companies that serve new-home builders: Floors Inc. of Landover, Md., Arvada Hardwood Floor Co. of Denver, and Floorworks Inc. of Phoenix. Terms were not disclosed, but motivation was: The Home Depot wants a slice of the estimated $12 billion new-home flooring market.
