Remodeling projects account for much of the workload at F.H. Perry Builder in Hopkinton, Mass. So, according to company partner and project executive William Cosman, he and his colleagues need a strong, user-friendly material to protect existing floors from construction dust, scuff marks, and dents. Recently they’ve turned to Ram Board, a compressed-fiberboard product that comes in a 38-inch-by-100-foot roll. “It’s recycled and easy to transport, and we save on labor putting it down,” he says. Ram Board is also reusable, upping its green quotient even more. Cosman also recommends DuraFlex trim moldings from ResinArt for rooms with curving walls. “We do a lot of curve work,” he says. “We’re using the flexible moldings more and more. DuraFlex relaxes better on the wall than wood, and it doesn’t show any break in the curve.”
