Here are the stories coming your way on the week of October 12, which starts slow with the Columbus Day holiday.

  • The latest installment in our Responsive Home series from BUILDER’s Jennifer Goodman will feature a focus on indoor/outdoor flow Tuesday (10/13).

  • Stone Martin Builders has an interesting strategy to court millennial buyers—it’s relying on smart home technology. BUILDER’s Kayla Devon reports on that strategy this Wednesday (10/14).

  • Also on Wednesday, BUILDER blogger Myers Barnes will look at how existing homes are a builder’s biggest competition, and offer strategies at selling new homes vs. existing stock.

  • Tiny Homes are all the rage. This Thursday (10/15) BUILDER’s Lauren Shanesy looks at techniques for building tiny homes.

  • Each month The University of Michigan publishes a Consumer Sentiment report. In September the report came in at 87.2, which continued a sharp decline from earlier in the year. The preliminary numbers for October are due out of Ann Arbor this Friday (10/16).
