In addition to Thanksgiving, early June is a time of year when many home builders think of giving back to their communities. That’s when Habitat for Humanity hosts the annual Home Builders Blitz program.

Since 2006, hundreds of professional home builders and thousands of subcontractors, suppliers, and other trade professionals have partnered with Habitat for Humanity affiliates to build more than 1,500 homes across the country. This year’s event runs June 6-10.

“One of the goals of this event is to involve more people in the work of Habitat and to get them excited about continuing to support affordable housing efforts,” says Jonathan Reckford, CEO of Habitat for Humanity International. “It just makes sense to involve construction professionals who have a unique perspective on the importance of a strong, well-developed community.”

Are you planning to participate in a Blitz? BUILDER would like to hear about it. Send photos, video and other info to @Jenn4Builder.
