Woodside Homes has acquired 367 acres surrounded by California wine country and a conservation preserve in Roripaugh Ranch, the last traditional master planned community in Temecula, Calif.
The Utah-based builder is planning up to 1,250 residences, a sports park, two community recreation centers, and a trail system on the property. New homes for sale will range from large view lots, to traditional-sized lots with single and two-story residences, to townhomes. The community will feature top-of-the-line construction, exciting architectural design styles, and contemporary California landscaping, Woodside says.
“We at Woodside Homes feel privileged to complete the city’s vision and build out this last large, beautiful, residentially zoned property,” says Chris Chambers, president of Woodside Homes Southern California, in a statement. “The unprecedented support of staff and key policymakers at the local, county, state and federal agencies who were involved in the approval process will be rewarded with delivery of a top-tier community environment—a place where hundreds of families will be proud to call home.”
New homes will fill the gap in demand for local businesses’ workforce needs, address the issue of new housing shortages, and contribute to the already booming economic growth in the area, the builder says. The newly acquired residential development is located in the northeast portion of Temecula in Riverside County and is within the acclaimed Temecula Valley Unified School District.
Last year, Japan’s largest home builder, Sekisui House, acquired Woodside, which has operations in California, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah. Woodside was ranked as the 27th-biggest builder last year with 1,842, according to the BUILDER 100 list.
