Kansas City-based Summit Homes presented representatives of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with the $718,000 sales proceeds of their recently-sold 2017 St. Jude Dream Home Showplace in a gathering conducted at the home site in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

This is the sixth St. Jude Dream Home built by Summit Homes since 2011, when the builder became the St. Jude Dream Home Builder for Kansas City. Participants in the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway Program pledge 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the Dream Home to support children battling cancer and other life threatening diseases.

Summit has raised $6 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital over the past six years. These proceeds cover the costs of treatment, food, travel, and housing for patients and their families.

“Our team is thrilled to make this donation following the close of our sixth St. Jude Dream Home® campaign here in Kansas City,” says Zalman Kohen, COO for Summit Homes, at the event. “We’re proud to support St. Jude’s lifesaving treatment and research efforts.”

As a “Zero Hero” builder, Summit partners with national and local sponsors to ensure that the home is built at zero cost with donated materials and labor. “We have an incredible group of trade partners who came together with our Summit team to build this home at zero cost. Without their support and the support of our local and national sponsors, this project would not be possible. It’s truly a labor of love for all involved,” says Kohen.

In addition to St. Jude, Summit Homes supports multiple organizations committed to helping children, including Drumm Farm Center for Children, Hope Haven of Cass County and Harvesters: The Community Food Network. Summit Homes is a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary through Clayton Properties Group.
