Earlier this year, president of Smart Energy, Honeywell Home and Building Technologies Nitin Kulkarni introduced a home energy management software that will help homeowners maintain electrical grid stability and lower energy costs. Designed in collaboration with Whisker Labs, the platform integrates data from connected devices, namely Wi-Fi-enabled thermostats, to optimize home energy usage. Dubbed Connected Savings, the program implements data from other connected thermostats and Whisker Labs’ weather data to predict how a home will respond to various weather conditions that fluctuate energy use. Complementing Honeywell’s portfolio of hardware, software, and services for utilities, the Connected Savings platform spans customer-submitted data and proprietary expertise to advance metering infrastructure and technology.
