Even rich people have to work. A top priority for the wives in our focus group: an out-of-the-way space for all the piles of mail, magazines and catalogs, volunteer work, and projects. They wanted a place to put stuff when friends came over for a cup of coffee.
No luxury home would be complete without a formal home office. In this house, the man’s work space is located in the adult wing, just below the sky room. It features an adjoining balcony and powder room.
Command Central: Views out the corner window to the putting green, pool, and mountains make the home command center a great place to work, make phone calls, and surf the Net yet still be close to the action of the core of the house. “This is clearly ‘her’ space, and not part of the laundry room,” says Design Tec Interiors’ Chris Johnson, who used rich brown wood treatments and covered the walls in a woven material that provides texture and warmth yet doesn’t compete with the architecture.
Office Space: “His” private office is tucked away in the adult wing of the house. It features a spectacular view of the golf course and mountains.
