Site to See

By BUILDER Magazine Staff. How much is a Web site worth? We asked Village Homes in Littleton, Colo. The company spent $1.2 million redesigning its site, which it launched two years ago. “It was absolutely worth the investment,” says Gayl Price vice president of marketing operations. “It has helped us keep our momentum in a slowing market.” Price says the payoff is in customer satisfaction; a commitment to which she says has helped the company to remain profitable. One feature is an online version of Village’s Tech Touch Showroom, a physical showroom where customers can choose electrical and electronic products. “Half of our users use it to find out what’s available; the other half use it to show their friends what they’re doing.”
