Solar energy looked poised for a revival during California’s electricity crisis last year, but when the crisis passed, interest in the alternative power source seemed to follow it. Although solar energy may be down, it’s not out. In late June, Clarum Homes in Palo Alto, Calif., announced that it would make solar electric power a standard feature in two new communities, using equipment from Newark, Del.-based AstroPower. “Solar electric power adds value to the homes we build,” says Clarum vice president John Suyppres. “We’re also differentiating our homes in the marketplace.”
