Liesel Cooper has joined Dream Finders Homes in the role of regional president. She most recently served as the national president of Century Communities.
In an email to BUILDER, Dream Finders Homes confirmed Cooper’s new role with the home builder, which will include overseeing its Colorado; Nashville, Tennessee; and Greenville and Charleston, South Carolina, divisions. The builder said she will start in the role March 18.
Nashville, Greenville, and Charleston represent new markets for Dream Finders Homes following its acquisition of privately held Crescent Ventures in February. In addition to expanding into three new markets, the purchase included 457 home sites in various stages of construction, a sales backlog of approximately 460 homes, and approximately 6,200 lots under control.
“Our access to capital and efficient operations will enable Crescent to grow faster and achieve significant scale in each market,” Dream Finders Homes CEO Patrick Zalupski said at the time of the Crescent Homes acquisition. “This transaction enhances our geographic reach and strategically diversifies our operations into three new metropolitan areas.”
Cooper has nearly four decades of experience in the home building industry, having served in prominent roles for Century Communities, KB Home, Meritage Homes, and MDC Holdings/Richmond American Homes during her career. In previous roles, she directly oversaw land acquisition, development, entitlement, construction, purchasing, product development, sales, marketing, customer service, and finance.
Jacksonville, Florida-based Dream Finders Homes ranked No. 14 on the 2023 BUILDER 100 list, closing 6,878 homes in 2022. The builder operates in Florida, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Colorado, and the Washington, D.C. metro area. Dream Finders Homes expanded its Florida operations by opening a Tampa division in January.
