Hann Named NAHB’s Custom Builder of the Year

The Custom Home Builders committee of the National Association of Home Builders has named Stephen Hann, president of Houston, Texas-based Hann Builders, as its 2007-2008 NAHB Custom Home Builder of the Year. Hann Builders has been operating in the Houston area for 14 years and completes 12 to 15 houses per year.

The Custom Home Builder of the Year award is given yearly to a builder the committee thinks has excelled in customer satisfaction, quality, and consistent service, and who is actively involved in the community and industry. Hann’s company makes its clients an integral part of the project team, from design and style choices to materials selection, guiding them through the decision-making process.

Hann also seeks feedback from clients once projects are completed to identify areas of improvement in the custom building process and discusses with them things that went right and things that went wrong. He says these meetings help the company refine its processes.

Stephen Hann, president of Hann Builders, has been named as NAHB’s 2007-2008 Custom Home Builder of the Year. In addition to providing a high level of customer service, Hann has been involved in his community as well as in the housing industry. He has served on several NAHB committees, including as chairman. He is a current and founding member of Custom Builders USA Houston Chapter, is a founding member of the Custom Builder Committee within the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA), is a past president of the Remodelers Council, and was a national director for the GHBA.
