Smith Douglas Homes Founder Returns to CEO Role

Tom Bradbury takes over for Charles Schetter, who leaves to be closer to family.

Smith Douglas Homes, Woodstock, Georgia announced today that CEO Charles Schetter is leaving the company to spend more time in Southern California with his young family. Founder and Chairman Tom Bradbury returned to the role of CEO, effective March 12th.

“Charles has played an integral role in the growth of Smith Douglas since 2015, and his vision and energetic leadership was central to our growth outside Atlanta, expanding Raleigh from start-up to maturity, and launching new Divisions in Charlotte, Nashville & Birmingham,” said Bradbury. “Both personally and professionally, I am grateful to him and the additional seasoned industry talent he attracted for these outstanding results.”

Said Schetter, “This has been a dream job for me professionally, but my family is in Southern California. I’d like to thank Tom Bradbury and every single associate of Smith Douglas for an opportunity I’ll never forget.”
