Tile Installer Certification Program Launches at Coverings

1 MIN READ

At Coverings 2008 in Orlando, Fla., the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) will launch the first certification program for installers of ceramic tile. Supported through a partnership with the National Tile Contractors Association and the Tile Council of North America, the certification program will yield contractors who complete it successfully a Level 1 (Thin Bed Floors and Walls) Certified Ceramic Tile Installer designation and card.

During Coverings, the certification program will be offered to only 10 installers and will be conducted as an intensive four-and-a-half-day program. After the launch, CTEF will take the program to contractor locations around the country throughout 2008, with stops planned in Dallas; Deerfield Beach, Fla.; Baltimore; Chicago; Kent City, Mich.; and Pendleton, S.C. The organization also is working on Level 1 Certification renewal programs, as well as Level II and Level III Certification programs for 2009.
