As the sweltering summer months approach, two Houston-area home builders are offering an incentive that will have buyers chilling over free electricity for two years.
Through the âBeat the Heatâ sales event, Coventry Homes and Plantation Homes â part of McGuyer Homebuilders (MHI) â will prepay two yearsâ worth of electricity bills for customers buying a home between May 13 and June 30. The Beat the Heat incentive is valid for all of the buildersâ Houston-area communities and for buyers utilizing Coventry Homesâ Build On Your Lot program.
James Miller, McGuyer’s region president, says the promotion is complements the companyâs focus on energy efficiency.
âNot only will buyers not sweat over electric payments for their first two years in their homes, but they will also continue to see energy savings even beyond the two-year promotional period as all of our homes in Houston are built âEco Smartâ and meet the platinum level standards of the Environments for Living program,â he says.
On average, buyers can expect their new Coventry or Plantation home to be nearly 50 percent more energy efficient than homes built in 2000 and 15 percent more efficient than homes built only to Energy Star mandates.
Coventry Homes builds homes priced from the $300,000s to more than $1 million in more than 25 planned developments. Plantation Homes is active in more than 20 Houston-area communities, with prices from the $200,000s.
