Clayton, one of the largest builders of manufactured, modular and site-built homes in America, has created a series of online tools for first-time buyers as they prepare to make a home purchase.

Buyers can visit the new Learn section of Claytonhomes.com to find a wide variety of great tips, articles, resources and helpful videos that will educate them about each step of the home buying process, from construction to maintaining a home long term after moving in. Some of these articles include:

  • 20 Questions to Help You Pick the Perfect Home
  • Considering Homeownership & What to Do Before Buying a Home
  • Home Center Experience: Choosing Your Dream Home
  • 13 Modern Amenities You Need in Your Home

In addition to the Learn section of its website, Clayton has released a 20 Questions worksheet for prospective home buyers. The questionnaire will help customers decide the home that best suits their needs by asking a series of questions about desired home features, floorplan and amenities. For instance, the worksheet asksbuyers how many bedrooms and bathrooms they would like, how big of a kitchen they require and even whether they’d like electric or natural gas appliances.

“Preparation is really important for first time home buyers at the beginning of the home buying process. Simple questions around their needs and wants takes what can be a stressful time and turns it into an exciting, fun and pleasant process,” Clayton CEO Kevin Clayton says. “All of our processes, from online to the Home Center, are designed with this goal in mind.”
