Realtor.com, Yelp Partner On Neighborhood Information

Potential buyers can view local business reviews and hot community spots together with sale listings.

Realtor.com, an online real estate listing site, and Yelp, a local business review site, announced their partnership last month. The two databases will combine local amenity information and Realtor.com neighborhood trend data to give buyers a more detailed snapshot of the community surrounding their potential future home.

When looking at a Realtor.com listing, buyers can see grocery stores, coffee shops, restaurants, drug stores, gas stations, and more directly on the property listing map. The map will include Yelp star ratings, which range on a scale of 1-5 based on consumer reviews.

“Deciding on a potential neighborhood is often the first step in the home buying process,” said Ryan O’Hara, chief executive officer for Realtor.com in a news release. “With the help of Yelp, we’ve enhanced our local data to take the anxiety out of living in a new area. Buyers now know exactly how close the nearest grocery store or coffee shop is to a potential new home before they even attend a showing.”
