By R.E. Blake Evans

The U.S. Census shows that the population in Southern states is growing faster than in the rest of the country, including the number of more mature Americans. In fact, the U.S. population is older than ever with a median age of 35.3 years. The age increase is a reflection of the number of aging baby boomers whose population is so vast, it drives up the median age of the rest of the country.
