New-Home Sales Soar in Las Vegas

Private builder American West Homes leads the market in 2017 over big production players.

The Las Vegas new home market has started 2017 with a bang. According to Home Builders Research, Inc., Las Vegas home builders reported 196 net new home contracts for the week ending Jan. 8, a 38% increase from the first week of January 2016.

Privately held American West Homes led the way with 39 new home contracts. The other top selling builders in Las Vegas were D.R. Horton with 37 sales, Lennar Homes with 20 sales, and KB Home with 18 sales. American West’s new home contract numbers are the highest a home builder has reported in Las Vegas since September 2016.

“This is a fantastic start to 2017,” says Larry Canarelli, President of American West Homebuilding Group. “With 10 current communities and 3 more coming on board in 2017, we anticipate 2017 being a great year for American West. With over 18,000 homeowners, we look forward to that number continuing to grow in the upcoming year.“

The Las Vegas Hew Home Market ended 2016 with a total of 8,099 new home sales for the year. According to New Home Builders Research, Inc., this represents a 16% increase over the previous year. D.R. Horton led the market at the end of 2016 with a total of 1152 new home sales. American West Homes ended the 2016 year with a total of 500 new home sales. American West is the only private home builder listed among the top 10 builders in new home sales for 2016.
