Taylor Morrison has a new vice president of purchasing for its Charlotte division.

Industry veteran Jeff Lear will manage the purchasing of all materials and labor for the company’s 14 communities in the Charlotte region, including four currently in development.

In his new role, Lear will work to ensure that the Charlotte division continues to “deliver high-quality new homes and upgrade options at the forefront of market trends,” the company said in a statement.

“Jeff brings a wealth of experience to our team and will be a great asset for us as we reach into new submarkets while managing construction costs,” said Kevin Granelli, Charlotte division president for Taylor Morrison.

Lear spent more than 18 years working at PulteGroup, one of the nation’s largest home builders. Most recently, he served as division director of operations for PulteGroup in St. Louis. Prior to that he held various high-level procurement and purchasing roles with the company in Chicago.

“Taylor Morrison is a growing company with an exciting future, and I look forward to working with the team as we expand our footprint in Charlotte, one of the most dynamic markets in the country,” said Lear.

Taylor Morrison recently launched home sales at Hunton Forest, a new residential community in Concord, N.C. and earlier this summer it broke ground at Bent Creek, a new community in Indian Land, S.C.
