The 2016 International Builders’ Show (IBS) is right around the corner. This year’s event will feature plenty of educational sessions, both old favorites as well as many new offerings. In fact, nearly 40% of speakers will be presenting at IBS for the first time.

IBS is part of Design & Construction Week, which includes the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show, the International Window Coverings Expo, and the International Surface Event. This mega-event will bring together more than 110,000 builders, general contractors, remodelers, designers, flooring professionals, as well as product specifiers from around the globe. Many of the educational offerings will focus on building science, including the popular High Performance Building Zone, which returns this year. The demo stage will feature top building science experts leading a series of live, interactive construction demos showcasing the latest methods, tips and tricks used in high performance building technique. Experts will give a “whole-house” look at energy efficient building with three live demonstrations offered daily. Session topics include wall design and construction, best practices in exterior insulation and air sealing, and indoor air quality and moisture control.

A new educational track–Building Science, Performance, and Systems–will walk attendees through the process of building better, smarter, more efficient homes. Presenters will cover hands-on techniques, theory, science and codes to help you build better. Session topics include framing, high-performance products, wall bracing, and insulation.

And of course the Expo floor will be chock full of new products and technologies. Manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and dealers will represent more than 2,000 brands.
