The International Code Council has announced that the 2018 International Code Council Committee Action Hearings will be held from April 15th-23rd in Columbus, Ohio.
These hearings will be the first chance for code officials, architects, builders, engineers, designers, plumbing professionals, trade associations or any other interested parties to review proposed changes to the Group A International Codes (I-Codes) and provide feedback for the 2021 I-Codes. The full 2021 code development process will take place over the next three years.
The Group A I-Codes include the International Building Code (egress, fire safety, general), International Fire Code, International Fuel Gas Code, International Mechanical Code, International Plumbing Code, International Property Maintenance Code, International Private Sewage Disposal Code, International Residential Code (mechanical, plumbing), International Swimming Pool and Spa Code, International Wildland-Urban Interface Code, and International Zoning Code.
“As the most widely used and adopted set of building safety codes, the I-Codes impact the lives of 450 million people in the U.S. and throughout the world,” Code Council Chief Executive Officer Dominic Sims, CBO, said in a statement. “Our code development process is open to all stakeholders, and we encourage everyone to take an active interest and participate in the process.”
