Virtual Verification for NGBS Green Certification
In light of the spread of COVID-19 in the United States, Home Innovation’s NGBS Green team is working with NGBS Green Verifiers to provide alternative verification rules and procedures that offer flexibility without compromising the credibility of NGBS Green Certification (HomeInnovation.com/Green). NGBS Green staff is available, as always, to help both verifiers and builders navigate any issues they encounter throughout the certification process. NGBS Green Verifiers are the best first contact for participating builders. Below are some quick facts regarding our current status:
Remote Verification Protocol: We’ve developed a protocol that allows our NGBS Green Verifiers to conduct virtual verification inspections when myriad travel restrictions and guidance make on-site inspections difficult or ill-advised. We have provided training and resources to ensure all accredited verifiers are prepared to offer this option. Consult your NGBS Green Verifier for more details.
New Verifier Training Options Available: While they may have more time to do online training and renew their accreditations, Home Innovation has made both an updated version of our 2012/2015 NGBS Green Verifier Training and the new 2020 NGBS Green Verifier Training available to current and prospective NGBS Green Verifiers.
2020 NGBS Overview: The 2020 NGBS Overview webinar is available on Home Innovation’s YouTube channel for single-family or multifamily builders and developers who are interested in what is new and different in the 2020 version of the National Green Building Standard.
Virtual & Remote Options for Building Product Manufacturers
Home Innovation has always been committed to helping our manufacturer clients achieve their product testing, certification, and marketing goals in the most efficient way possible. While much of our work is standardized, there’s also a great deal of it that can be customized. Over the past several months, we have rolled out expanded virtual audits and remote witness testing programs, saving clients time and money, even prior to the current global health crisis.
