Landsea Homes’ headquarters relocation to Dallas from Newport Beach, California, has been more than a year in the making. The home builder first expanded eastward into Texas and Florida in 2021 through the acquisition of Vintage Estate Homes and has quickly grown its presence in both states.
As the 2022 BUILDER of the Year’s presence grew beyond markets in California and Arizona, CEO John Ho says a headquarters move to a more central location made sense to match the company’s geographic portfolio.
“Our relocation was driven primarily to give us better efficiency and effectiveness in managing our bicoastal business by being based in the center of the country in a central time zone,” says Ho.
Landsea Homes’ new headquarters at 1717 E. McKinney St. in Dallas totals 7,716 square feet. Ho says all current corporate support employees in Newport Beach will remain in California, along with the home builder’s Southern California division employees. The current corporate team will move into the company’s Southern California division office in Irvine, where both teams will work together.
In addition to the logistical advantages a central headquarters location offers Landsea Homes, the relocation to Dallas is also beneficial due to its lower cost of living and the access it provides the company to a highly educated workforce, which Ho says is “critical” as the builder continues to build its corporate team.
“We are very focused on growing our home building footprint in Texas as well as in all our other markets where we operate,” says Ho. “This move demonstrates our strong commitment to Texas, and it made sense to be here for Landsea Homes’ own long-term growth.”
Ho says Landsea Homes is looking at a number of finished lot options in the Texas market and will announce closings in the short-term future. As part of its commitment to the state, the home builder recently began building nearly 1,000 homes in Kyle, part of the greater Austin metro. Ho adds the company will expand in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston metros, where the home builder sees “great opportunities for growth,” in the near future.
Landsea Homes builds homes and communities in Arizona, Florida, Texas, and throughout California in Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, and Orange County.
