Newport Beach, Calif.-based builder Landsea Homes launched its “Live in Your Element with High Performance Homes” program this month in select communities in Arizona and California. Each of the builder’s new High Performance Homes will feature a curated series of products focused on home automation, sustainability, and energy savings for homeowners.

In partnership with Apple, new High Performance Homes will utilize Apple HomeKit to consolidate all home automation features into one mobile app. The system comes installed with an Apple TV media manager device, MeshNet wireless internet throughout the structure, entry door locks, dimmer switches, doorbell camera pre-wiring, thermostat and garage door control, and an individualized training session with customer service.

“Today’s home buyers seek a balanced life through technology, the ability to stay connected, and the option to be in control all while maintaining a high level of privacy and security. Our High Performance Homes and partnership with Apple provide the features and conveniences people have come to expect,” says Mike Forsum, chief operating officer of Landsea Homes.

Landsea selected the homes’ materials and features for their efficient use of energy, environmental consciousness, or contribution to family comfort and health. Highlights include tankless water heaters, ENERGY STAR appliances, environmentally conscious building materials and waste recycling programs during construction.

High performance indicates features that go above and beyond basic requirements – in this case including upgraded roof, wall, and floor insulation; more efficient mechanical systems; and LED lighting throughout. Taken together, according to the builder, these features provide lower monthly energy bills and a greater environmental awareness among homeowners.

“Sustainability is a defining characteristic for Landsea Homes and the company’s deep respect for the shared environment of the communities created are reflected in every Landsea High Performance Home,” Forsum says. “We take great pride in delivering responsibly designed homes with the highest standards in sustainable building technology so that every detail creates a healthy living environment and enhances the lives of our residents.”
