The abrasive style of Larry Summers will not be missed by a good number of Federal bureaucrats, but off to the green pastures of Harvard University goes he. President Obama has had a few months to sort out who might get his nod to succeed Summers as chief of the National Economic Council, and the question is whether the selection will come across to friend and foe as a no win or a win-win choice. Reuters reports, “Summers, who served as treasury secretary under President Bill Clinton and is a former president of Harvard University, was known for his blunt style and was seen by some liberal Democrats as being too close to Wall Street.” Conventional wisdom is that no great disruption is in store among Obama cabinet positions, but that’s conventional wisdom for you.
