TRI Pointe Homes’ Northern California Division has announced the launch of its “Think Outside the Box” program, a community reuse and recycle effort to help new homeowners recycle moving boxes during their move to their new home. The launch of the program will be rolled out across all 12 of TRI Pointe Northern California’s currently active for-sale communities.

The program was designed to help reduce the amount of waste associated with the moving process. To participate in the program, each new homeowner is given the location of the pick-up/drop-off point of the recycle station in their community to pick up boxes. Once the homeowners have used the boxes they’ll break them down and return them to the community recycle station for the next homeowner’s use.

The initiative complements LivingSmart, TRI Pointe’s program that includes the design, development, construction, and operation of high-performing homes that provide healthier, more comfortable living environments while lowering operating costs.

“LivingSmart is about the health and well-being of our homeowners as well as the planet, and that commitment is always expanding,” says Jeff Frankel, division president, TRI Pointe Homes Northern California. “We have a steadfast passion for improving the quality of life for our homeowners and the ‘Think Outside the Box’ program helps us achieve that by reusing and recycling moving boxes to create less waste.”
