Temecula, Calif.-based S2A Modular has expanded its operations into modular single-family home construction with its #GreenLuxHome, a series of electrically self-sustaining modular luxury homes.

To start the construction process, #GreenLuxHome buyers can either choose from more than 35 pre-designed one- and two-story floor plans or create an entirely custom space. Once the plans are approved, the homes are assembled and built within six weeks. Each design features a foundation that is visually identical to that of a “traditional” home, according to the manufacturer.

All #GreenLuxHomes incorporate a rooftop solar grid and a Tesla Powerwall solar battery, which allows the home to store surplus energy, generate “surplus energy income” by selling energy back to the grid, and operate through power grid outages or off-grid entirely. The homes’ appliances, features, and smart-connected devices are provided in partnership with a number of project partners, including Tesla, LG Electronics, Mitsubishi, AO Smith, NETGEAR, Broadstreet, and more.

“A Green Lux Home isn’t just a slogan: we’re smashing old-fashioned perceptions and truly are creating a new category of custom homes that simply aren’t comparable to any traditional site-built, modular or other types of residences,” says John Rowland, co-founder and president of S2A Modular. “An S2A home is immediately superior in long-term value, upon appraisal, to a traditional home – and for good reason. Simply put, a Green Lux Home saves money, time and energy, while reflecting the ultimate level of sustainability, luxurious design, high-end materials, smart-connected features and an overall better way of living.”

The company will break ground on its 100,000+ square-foot MegaFactory facility in Menifee, Calif. in the next few months, with full operation expected in mid-2019. The MegaFactory will provide a dedicated and controlled environment for S2A’s residential and commercial operations.
