Following last week’s powerful winter storms, the NAHB has compiled and shared a bevy of winter safety resources for home owners and jobsite crews alike.
The Dallas Builders Association, whose local office sustained damage from frozen pipes, shared a video with its members with steps home owners can take to minimize water damage, including turning off the water supply in order to protect the pipes and the rest of the home if leaking occurs.
Additional resources shared by the NAHB include:
- “Staying Safe During a Winter Storm” by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
- “Blizzard Safety” by the American Red Cross
- “How to Protect Yourself from Winter Weather” by Ready.gov, which includes a section on the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Jobsite winter safety guidance, including OSHA regulations and COVID-19 considerations, can be found here.
