A Jacksonville-based roofing contractor has been issued nearly $200k in fines by OSHA this month.

Desouza Framing has been cited for failing to provide fall protection in two separate investigations last year. OSHA found the firm failed to provide fall protection at heights of 11 feet and 22 feet.

“Employers are required to provide employees with fall protection when they work at heights of six feet or higher,” said Brian Sturtecky, OSHA Jacksonville area office director. “Desouza Framing is putting workers at risk of serious injury by failing to comply with the Agency’s fall protection standards.”

The firm has 15 business days to comply or contest findings.
