New Calls for Tornado-Safe Homes

In light of recent twister outbreaks, builders wonder what--if anything--can be done to build better-fortified dwellings.

Large parts of the U.S. are cleaning up from huge thunderstorms and tornado outbreaks that hit this weekend in Texas, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma. In all, more than 70 tornadoes were reported over the weekend in the Midwest and Plains states. Houses and buildings in one North Texas town were reportedly “ripped to pieces,” according to ABC News.
