The Building Talent Foundation (BTF) entered a partnership with Friendly House, a multifaceted social services agency serving Arizona communities through education and human services. The organizations will focus on facilitating the professional development and career placement of Friendly House clients with BTF’s residential construction employer partners seeking skilled tradespeople.
“This collaboration capitalizes on our organizations’ combined strengths and moves us closer to our vision of developing a sustainable workforce in the sector,” says Brank Minic, CEO of BTF. “By connecting Friendly House clients with our extensive network of employer partners, the workforce will grow stronger.”
Under the partnership, Friendly House will connect BTF with underrepresented career seekers, such as GED credential holders, immigrants, and refugees. BTF will then provide career coaching and job placement services to Friendly House clients.
BTF was established by 20 leading home building companies and is committed to building a sustainable residential construction workforce. The organization’s mission is to advance the education, training, and career progression of young people and people from underrepresented groups as skilled technical workers and business owners in residential construction. BTF’s vision is to build a sustainable residential construction workforce by 2030.
“We are in a fortunate position to have such an ambitious partner as Building Talent Foundation,” says Friendly House CEO and president Jerry Mendoza. “Job interview tips, career counseling, and job placement assistance from BTF’s engagement managers will prove invaluable in helping our clients find career success and advancement.”
BTF has recently entered partnerships with SkillPointe Foundation, the Southern Careers Institute in Texas, M.T. Copeland Technologies, the Painting Contractors Association, StrataTech Education Group, and the Floor Covering Education Foundation to provide career coaching and job placement services to students involved with each organization.
