Part of the USGBC’s mission is to support and encourage individuals in the green building industry who work tirelessly to advance the tenets of sustainable design and construction. Two of the organization’s programs recognize people with that devotion. The USGBC’s 2012 Leadership Awards and LEED Fellows were recently announced and will be honored during the annual Greenbuild conference. “The green building industry didn’t grow in to a global movement by chance,” states Rick Fedrizzi, president, CEO, and founding chairman of the USGBC, in a release. “We got here because of the hard work and innovation of sustainability pioneers and visionaries.”
