2018 Sherwin Williams Student Design Challenge Open for Entries

Student interior designers can submit residential and commercial designs through March 15.

Sherwin-Williams is accepting residential and commercial design project entries to the eighth annual 2018 Sherwin-Williams Student Design Challenge through March 15, 2018. The competition offers cash prizes to interior design students and their schools, as well as a chance for students to be recognized for their work.

“Sherwin-Williams is proud to encourage excellence among the future leaders of the interior design industry,” said Sue Wadden, director of color marketing for Sherwin-Williams. “The Student Design Challenge provides students a unique opportunity to showcase their work to top designers and celebrates their creativity.”

Wadden will be the main contest judge, with assistance from designers Nancy Fire in the residential category and Vanessa Deleon in the commercial category. Fire is the co-founder and creative director of Design Works International and design director of HGTV HOME, and Deleon is the owner of Vanessa Deleon Associates.

To enter, individuals or a design team of up to three students can submit an original or commercial design project online. The first place-winner in each category, residential or commercial, will win $2,500, plus $1,000 for their design school. Second-place winners will receive $1,000, and third-place winners will receive $500. The two first-place winners will be featured in the 2018 edition of Sherwin-Williams’s STIR magazine, and all winners will be featured on the Sherwin-Williams Facebook page and in the STIR eExtra email newsletter.
