The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) honored Luis Jauregui of Austin, Texas-based firm Jauregui Inc. as the 2016 Custom Home Builder of the Year at an awards luncheon at the International Builders’ Show in Orlando, Fla. In its eleventh year, the Sherwin-Williams-sponsored award celebrates innovative digital presence, professional achievements in crafting custom homes, exemplary customer service, and impactful leadership within the industry and community.
The fully integrated design-build firm, led by Jauregui, was recognized for its work on more than 300 luxury custom homes and 45 speculative homes over the past three decades. The 30-member Jauregui Inc. team is composed of site managers, estimators, real estate specialists, architects, landscape architects, and interior designers.
An active and influential leader with national and local home builders associations (HBAs), Jauregui is currently serving on the NAHB’s Design Committee. He also co-founded a council that supports custom builders through targeted efforts including custom builder training, government affairs activities, and efforts to improve the custom builder market in Austin.
“Luis co-founded our most successful specialty industry group: our Custom Builders Council,” said HBA chief executive officer Emily Lubbers in a release issued by the NAHB. “He created a system and focus for this council that has sustained it since the early 1990s. It is still our best council and a model that other councils follow to this day.”
Under Jaregui’s leadership, the firm recently reached several social media milestones, including over a million saved images by Houzz viewers, and high volumes of traffic led to their website as result of company news and images of projects shared on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram.
“The most decorated builder in the state, Luis Jauregui demonstrates excellent leadership qualities and has made a tremendous contribution to this industry by imparting to others nationwide his wisdom in customer service, design-build systems, and marketing excellence,” Lubbers said.
