Call for Entries: 2025 Builder’s Choice Design Awards

The 2025 edition of the annual residential design awards program will accept entries until August 1.

For more than three decades, the Builder’s Choice Design Awards has celebrated innovation in residential design. Open to builders, architects, developers, and more, the competition accepts entries at various project scales and styles until June 27 (regular deadline) and August 1 (late deadline, $50 fee applies). Projects completed after Jan. 1, 2020, are eligible for consideration. Two levels of awards—grand and merit—are issued based on criteria including design excellence, innovation, sustainability, floor plan efficiency, and use of materials. One project may also be elevated to receive the program’s highest honor, Project of the Year.

This year’s categories include the following:

  • Community Amenity NEW
  • Build-to-Rent
  • Custom Home / 3,000 Square Feet or Less
  • Custom Home / More Than 3,000 Square Feet
  • Landscape Design NEW
  • Master-Planned Communities
  • Modular or Prefab Home
  • Production or Spec Home / 3,000 Square Feet or Less
  • Production or Spec Home / More Than 3,000 Square Feet
  • Townhomes and Duplexes

The design awards entry process is completely digital. You may register, complete entry forms, and upload images, drawings, and plans by submitting everything to the digital portal in an easy, three-step process.

A single entry is $150, and entrants with three or more entries will receive a 30% discount on the total purchase. A late fee of $50 per entry will apply to all entries submitted after June 27. Winners will receive coverage in print, as well as on builderonline.com.
