PARKING OFTEN CONFOUNDS THE site plans for urban infill projects, but in the case of Cityview Lofts, a significant slope on the site proved advantageous. David Furman Architecture capitalized on the grade to create an underground parking deck for 25 attached condo units in the heart of Charlotte’s First Ward Garden District.

Boasting 10-foot ceilings and expansive windows, the “tabletop” loft units enjoy spectacular views of the city skyline and stand just a few blocks from a restored trolley line. Familiar cladding materials and warm colors work in harmony with the neighborhood vibe, yet the development’s contemporary architecture gives it a unique presence.
