Using old photos and historical research, the architect worked with the clients to restore the home to its original state, which included an asymmetrical façade, an overhanging red slate roof, a prominent wraparound porch, and a large reception area with a central stair and Palladian window. The 21st-century touch: geothermal heating and cooling and new insulation.

“It’s an incredibly successful restoration … in which … everything was done classically correct with simple, clean lines that are sympathetic to the historical proportions and elements that define a Queen Anne. The house retains its original character down to the finest of details.”
