Paseo Chapala

Santa Barbara, Calif.

1 MIN READ

The 29 townhomes and flats, including eight affordable units, at Paseo Chapala lay at the heart of a revitalization effort in Santa Barbara. The project replaced a dilapidated apartment building and a number of shed structures with what architect Detlev Peikert describes as “a medieval Spanish village with paseos and courtyards.” Residences neatly perched on top of ground-level parking and commercial space are literally across the street from theaters and restaurants and a block from a grocery store.
