A massive, swiveling glass front door offers the first clue that this is no ordinary house, despite its otherwise traditional, dormered façade. Inside, the space opens up to reveal a light-splashed communal zone with skylights and 12-foot ceilings—which, in turn, spills back out onto a sleek poolside cooking and entertainment area of ipe decking complete with a barbeque and pizza oven. In the Southern California climate, it’s not exactly clear when you’re inside and when you’re not. And that’s the idea.
