Tarrytown Pavilion

Austin, Texas

1 MIN READ

This multi-purpose outbuilding references the mid-century modern houses of Southern California, even though it’s located in Austin, Texas. The structure consists of two stucco-covered perimeter walls, butt-glazed clerestory windows, and floor-to-ceiling sliders that create a space that’s ideal for the clients’ art collection. A metal and sapele wood–clad box defines the main core, which houses a bath, Murphy bed, bar, kitchenette, and mechanical system. Despite its diminutive 620 square feet, the building feels large thanks to its light-filled interior.
